There are lots of reasons you might need some farm books for preschool. Maybe you’re looking to gift a book to a small farm-lover in your life. Maybe you’re rounding out a family trip to a farm with something good to read. You might be planning a unit of themed learning (this is one of my favorite tasks in the world) and you need farm books to go with the animal toys and tractor crafts — and if that is the case, I am jealous. Whatever your purpose, I am here to deliver with this round-up of farm books for preschool age. Although, several of these titles will be great for older readers as well.  In a world where fewer...

How to easily make Salmon & Cheese Grilled Rice Balls, a tasty camp food【SoraKitchen】

A tricky food made easy with our favorite cooking tool! Surely you’ve tried an onigiri by now…but have you tried a yaki-onigiri? Made with the same ingredients as a standard rice ball but grilled to have a nice, crispy exterior, this leveled-up version of everyone’s favorite portable snack is popular with adults and kids alike. But making them at home is tricky because they tend to either collapse on the grill or stick to the grates, making it impossible to get a whole rice ball with a crispy exterior. Luckily, our favorite camp cooking YouTuber, Ken Outdoor Cooking, has a solution for us. The trick, it turns out, is using a hot sandwich maker, which is one of our favorite...

Do You Miss Her?

The other day, my sweet man and I went to a Jack Johnson concert. I highly suggest it, by the way. It was really wonderful! We drove part of the way home afterward, staying in an Airbnb about an hour from home. On the way there, the topic of exes came up, as it often does. It’s usually in a pretty decent context…we try to stay positive. Research shows there are many benefits of sleeping naked — it can improve not only your snooze, but also other aspects of your health. Is it better to sleep naked though? Here’s what the research says about going au naturale come bedtime.Sleeping Naked...

Hot and Cold Water Density Experiment

This easy science activity demonstrates the difference in density between hot and cold water. It can be a bit messy so I would either do it outside or put the jars in a tray. The demonstration works as cold water is more dense than hot water so the hot water sits on top of the cold. When water is heated, water molecules move around faster, bounce off each other and move further apart. As there’s more space between the water molecules the density of warmer water is less than the same volume of cooler water. Density demonstration with hot and cold water You’ll need Two small or medium glass jars Hot water Cold water Small sheet of card Food colouring...
