Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City

To me, I suspect, the phrase “Resident Evil” will always mean the Milla Jovovich sci-fi-action-horror series that spanned six movies and fourteen years, kicking off at the start of the 21st century zombie movie revival, swerving into mimicry of MAD MAX and THE MATRIX, and ending somewhat disappointingly, but also somewhat admirably, with yet another look and feel. “Am I The Jerk For Telling My Parents To Pay Me Back My College Tuition If They Want A Relationship?”

Who hasn’t been jealous of their siblings? All those times they were allowed to go out after 7 p.m. while you’re stuck at home with your mom because you aren’t “old enough” to do anything else. Meditation can be an incredibly impactful way to improve your recovery, reduce your stress, and even help you get stronger and build more muscle in the gym. And while meditation for strength athletes isn’t a replacement for getting help with...

George Plimpton and Papa in Cuba When Ernest Hemingway agreed to his famous Paris Review interview, he had no idea he’d be helping the CIA. By Joel WhitneyJanuary 2, 2107 In early 1959, George Plimpton was preparing to watch an execution in Cuba. The Cuban revolutionaries, led by Fidel Castro and Che Guevara, had just marched on Havana and ousted the US-supported dictator Fulgencio Batista. The young Paris Review editor and other New York literary figures arrived during a period marked by hope for a democratic Cuba. They were there, too, as witnesses. Wary of US media distorting events, the revolutionaries...

This tutorial was originally posted on Crafting a Green World in 2015.Got a kid who's in love with color? These DIY color viewers will help her see the world in a whole new light! These color viewers are a project that is suitable for a wide range of ages. Toddlers and preschoolers will incorporate them into their sensory play, while older kids (who do still love their sensory play, of course!) will be able to use them for a variety of scientific observations and experiments--colored shadows, color mixing, the properties of light, the properties of the eye, etc.  Also? They're just plain fun!  Here's how to make your own set of color viewers:   1. Gather ample cardboard to upcycle. You'll need two pieces of cardboard...
