1. The McDonald’s app was a clear winner.

The McDonald’s app is a hit with the Hip2Save team and our readers. SO MANY PEOPLE have told me why its the absolute tops. I have to agree that using the app is the fastest way to find the best deals AND earn yourself free food. Some of the deals our team has spotted recently include a FREE Large Fry with any purchase, a FREE Happy meal, and Buy One Get One Free sandwiches. 🍔

If you download the app and join the MyMcDonalds Rewards Program, you’ll earn points with every single order. For every $1 you spend, you’ll snag 100 points and these points can be used to get FREE food! 🙌0

It only takes 200 points to snag FREE food like hash browns, an Icedream cone, or a chocolate chunk cookie. The more points you accumulate, the better the reward! With 700 points you can even score favorites like Chick-fil-A Nuggets or a Hash Brown Scramble Burrito. Plus, the app makes it super easy to customize your favorite menu items.

4. As far as fast food apps go, Burger King’s is super user-friendly and has a ton of offers every day.

This app is my own personal recommendation. It’s been years since I’ve eaten here, but I’ve been testing out tons of food apps over the past few weeks to bring you all the best hacks and deals. I’ve found that the Burger King app is one of the most user-friendly out there. I’m a sucker for good software and this app does not disappoint. It runs smoothly and is updated regularly. Plus, there are always a plethora of different offers that score you free food, a free upgrade to a larger size, a money-saving family bundle deal, or a big discount on your favorite sandwich. If you’re a sucker for a Croissan’wich, download this app and become a Royal Perks member!

Royal Perks members score 10 points called “Crowns” for every $1 spent. After $25, you’re eligible for FREE food like a Small Hash Browns. The offers get better the more points you accumulate! Plus, members also can upgrade their fries or onion rings to a larger size for no charge and get 2X the Crowns during their entire birthday month! 🥳 Even with Burger King’s higher prices, this app gets the crown from me. 👑

5. The Subway app lets you cash in rewards for a $2 discount.

If you like to eat a footlong for lunch, give the Subway app a try. When you sign up for Subway MyWay Rewards, you’ll get 4 tokens for every $1 you spend. When you hit 200 tokens, you can cash them in for a $2 discount on any menu item. When I downloaded the app in January 2023 to test it out, I was immediately offered a Buy One Get One 50% off deal plus 3X the tokens for my first month of membership. The handy app is also a hit with my teammates who appreciate how easy it is to apply promo codes and cash in your rewards.

A great reason to become a Starbucks rewards member is that you get free refills of drip coffee and tea in the store. You’ll also get a FREE coffee or treat every single year on your birthday. 🎉 Plus, reward members collect points called “Stars” with every single purchase. You’ll get 2 stars for every $1 spent, and sometimes Starbucks offers double point days! If you’re paying in-store by cash or credit card, you can still earn 1 star per $1 spent by scanning your app at checkout.

The Whataburger app is a hit with patrons of this fast-food chain. Download it and become a MyWhataburger Rewards member. The app makes it easy to customize your order or see deals, but the best part is that you’ll snag FREE food after every 5 visits. No wonder the Whataburger by me always seems to have a line out the door! 🚗🚙🚗🚙

10. Earn a FREE Medium pizza when you order using the Domino’s app.

I LOVE pizza. I’m usually a deep dish lover but sometimes I need something less heavy. The Domino’s app is perfect for when you’re craving a slice and want a good deal. It’s available for iOS or Android. Rewards members get 10 points for every order. Rack up 60 points and you get a FREE Medium 2-Topping Pizza. The fast food app also has exclusive coupons and lets you track your delivery driver! 🍕

Another pizza chain that has a lot of deals and a rewards program is Papa John’s. With each order, you earn “Papa Dough.” You’ll get 1 point for every $1 spent. Earn 75 Papa Dough points and you’ll be rewarded with $10 off your next order. If you find yourself ordering from either of these pizza joints throughout the year, you’re missing out on free food by not downloading their apps. 💰

11. Get a FREE reward just for joining the Taco Bell app.

If you find yourself craving Taco Bell, download the app before your next visit. All Shmear Society Rewards members get 2 points for every $1 spent and these can be redeemed for free food and drink items. You’ll earn these points at Einstein Bros. Jersey Mike’s has a fast food app that makes it really easy to score FREE sandwiches. Not only do you get exclusive offers and a FREE sub on your birthday, but you also get points with every qualifying purchase. Here’s how their points work:
