Marina One restaurants to try this CNY 2022
Chinese New Year is a major occasion for many to spend time with their loved ones over a delicious meal. This year, if you’re looking for a quality restaurant to have a reunion dinner or CNY feast, put Marina One on your radar.
Located in the Marina Bay area, Marina One is a towering hub with a lush garden at its heart, offering visitors a verdant respite from the bustling city. The development is also home to numerous restaurants across different cuisines. For Chinese New Year 2022, many of these restaurants are offering special menus and dishes you can dine in and enjoy, or order to take home and impress your loved ones.
For a nod to tradition, head down to NUDE Seafood (#01-22/23) for your reunion dinner. The seafood specialty restaurant offers reunion dinners in-house, or for takeaway, and each order includes their Pencai ‘Treasures of the Sea’ offering.
Pen cai is a claypot dish that symbolizes abundance and richness in the year to come, so secure yourself those new year blessings with Nude Seafood’s luxurious version. Each serving comes with eight-head abalone, giant king prawns, premium fish maw, braised shiitake mushrooms, cordyceps flowers, and Hokkaido scallops, all simmering in a rich, briny superior abalone stock.
For islandwide delivery, a seven-course meal including the pen cai is priced at $358 nett for four to five people, and $598 nett for eight to 10 people.
For dine-in, ala carte prices start at $238++ for four to five people, or $438++ for eight to 10 people. There’s also a special eight-course dine-in Reunion Dinner on 28 to 31 January, priced at $388++ per table of four, and an $88++ addition for the fifth diner.
For more classic CNY dishes, Standing Sushi Bar (#B2-47) has got your back with their takeaway menus. Their Salmon Yusheng is a great option to have for lo hei, as it comes with all the fixings, alongside beautifully presented fresh salmon slices.
To enjoy this, choose between the Wealth Platter ($68.88), which comes with 20 slices of salmon sashimi and is good for up to six people, or the Abundance Platter ($88.88), served with 30 slices of salmon sashimi and is good for up to eight people.
The eatery also has sushi platters made entirely by hand, which is rare for most fast sushi joints.
Get their Signature Maki Platter ($78), lined with 48 pieces of maki, spanning flavours including unagi, salmon, California, and wasabi.
Otherwise, there’s their Nigiri Platter ($88), with 42 different pieces of nigiri in well-loved flavours. These include inari, tamago, and ebi, but also more atas cuts of sashimi, such as salmon belly and white tuna.
Save $10 when you get the Yusheng and Maki Combo platters, or Yusheng and Nigiri Combo platters!
In the same takeaway vein are the pre-cooked abalone offerings from Wakanui Grill Dining (#04-02). These include juicy, large sake-steamed Japanese abalone, already cooked and vacuum-sealed, ready to grace the reunion dinner table. The box comes with six pieces of steamed abalone, abalone shells, liver sauce, and a card with preparation instructions, so you can make a delicate starter for your CNY meal.
These are priced at $138 per box. They also make excellent festive gifts for loved ones or business partners!
Finally, if you’re tired of all the abalone, pen cai, and yusheng options, The Spot (#01-26/27) is here to refresh your palette. The gastro-bar specialises in fusion fare, and has a menu studded with Euro-Southeast Asian fusion dishes, including some exclusives for February.
Make a reservation with your friends and try these unique items. There’s the Hand-Chopped Beef Tartare ($25++), where the tartare is made piquant thanks to the use of slow-grilled green chillies in the dressing, lime, and sesame.
For mains, feast on the Roasted NZ Baby Lamb Rack ($48++). The lamb is marinated in a char siew sauce, housemade with dark malt for extra sticky, smoky goodness. Accompanying the lamb is an aromatic and earthy black garlic puree, for added intensity.
Finally, for dessert, try the Black Sticky Rice Porridge ($15++). This refined dessert is layered with nutty black sesame and glutinous rice, then topped with a sea salt butter milk ice cream for creaminess.
If you plan to feast your way through Marina One, then you’ll be happy to know that there are e-vouchers to be redeemed. Spend a minimum of $68 receipts across three receipts in the same day and claim a $5 Marina One e-voucher you can use across the mall.
