A large number of the crafts I make could start with the introduction, "So I had this idea and wanted to see what would happen if..." In this case, I wanted to see if I could thicken inexpensive acrylic paint with flour*, then pipe it onto a canvas as if it were frosting. It didn't quite work as I'd hoped, but I'm happy with the end result. And it was a lot of fun to make! I started out by painting a blue background on a square canvas, then painted a tree onto that. While the paint was drying, I got out the flour, acrylic paints in fall colors, and ziplock bags. I put about 1/4 of flour into a bag,...
Last year, 450 million Asia Pacific gamers aged under 18 loaded up numerous virtual worlds right under the noses of brand marketers. Youngsters can spend hours immersed in games. Why? Because they are a safe space for kids to experiment with their identity, practise their social skills and discover their potential and capabilities. Yet despite its incredible popularity, gaming is still regarded as a niche form of entertainment, meaning marketers are missing out on a tremendous opportunity to reach APAC’s younger audiences. If marketers wish to reach a highly-engaged audience of under-18s, then games are the place to be. However, this unique digital-age group requires a re-think of marketers’ age-old strategies, as these will simply not work. Instead, here are...
The end of Back to the Future III was the greatest unresolved cliffhanger in all of popular sci-fi. Or was it? Although that film ended with Doc showing up in a new time machine built out of a train, the adventures that followed were never chronicled. Except, of course, they were! In a cartoon, many of us watched but can scarcely believe was real. While the ending of Back to the Future III was widely considered to be a satisfying conclusion trilogy the open-mindedness of its final moments has led many to wonder, “What’s next?” While Universal Pictures has, thankfully, resisted the urge to make a fourth Back to the Future film, there have been several officially-licensed follow-ups that have...

Dry shampoo is not a substitute for washing your hair, and you should probably be washing your hands even more often than you do. Personal hygiene is not something to take lightly, as it is vital to our health and our social lives. Nobody wants to cuddle up on the couch next to someone who reeks of garlic breath or sweaty gym clothes! But even though hygiene is second nature to most of us, it’s never a bad idea to have a reminder to wash your bedsheets every week and change your toothbrush head every few months. Below, we’ve gathered some of the most important hygiene...
Streaming services like HBO Max are under fire for mistreating animation studios and creators, but Disney's been a quiet canary in that coal mine. "The Owl House" is a spectacular series about a world of wild magic, and it's never afraid to deal with tough topics like betrayal and emotional abuse. Its story treats its diverse and LGTBQ+ cast with refreshing acceptance. Unfortunately, it's also slated to end with a third season consisting of only three 40-minute episodes. This doesn't stop Disney from trotting out the series for promotion during Pride Month. Creator Dana Terrace is quick to point out the cancellation is likely due to the show's darkness and plot complexity, not any bigotry on the Mouse's part. That rings hollow...
