Artisan Bread 30 Days to… 5 Keys for… 7 Steps to… I’ve never been interested in gimmicky fads. So when Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day: The Discovery That Revolutionizes Home Baking (Amazon) came along back in 2007, I didn’t pay much attention. After hearing about it everywhere I turned though, I finally borrowed a copy of the book. I flipped through it, tried the master recipe, and was hooked. If you have baked bread using these steps, you know how brilliant and simple it is. If baking with yeast makes you nervous, this method is a great place to start. Just think, this could be the year you finally conquer baking a loaf of yeast bread from scratch! Here’s...
Okay, I’m going to put this disclaimer right up front: THESE ARE HARD! Not specifically this pumpkin version, but rather macarons in general. They’re the most temperamental bake I’ve ever made. But I think I’ve finally gotten it right! This batch was the best I’ve done yet. Of course I’ll list all of the ingredients and instructions, and I’ll add any of the tips and lessons I’ve learned along the way too. My first attempt at making Sourdough Ciabatta. I found it quite fun and easier than making an Open Crumb Sourdough Bread. The crumb didn't turn out to be as big as I would have liked. It could be something with the hydration of the dough or maybe the method I used. However, the bread is very tasty and this reminds me of the Ciabatta we used to buy at one of the local bakery shops near our place. The texture is very soft and I can barely taste the sourness. I made Ciabatta before using instant yeast but this Sourdough Ciabatta tastes so much better! This recipe is adapted from Sourdough & Olives with modifications. If you have any questions...
